Review and restructuring

From time to time the University will need to review its structures and requirements for academic, professional, general and support services in line with the strategic aims and anticipated needs of the University and to enhance operational effectiveness and financial viability.

The Restructuring Procedure provides the framework within which the University will operate when reviewing academic and support activities, and sets out the way in which the University will engage and consult with staff, recognised Trade Unions and the Staff Forum whenever there may be a recommendation for a reduction in staffing levels.

The Procedure also covers the University's obligations in respect of consultation with staff who may be "at risk" of redundancy.
