About the Grounds
The campus grounds are one of the University's most attractive features. Each of the 3 campuses; Whiteknights, London Road and Henley, has its own unique identity.
Today the largest campus, Whiteknights, provides a green oasis in the heart of . The parkland retains many fine trees, meadows and a lake.
The park was originally owned by the Marquess of Blandford who invested heavily in landscaping however many of the features and plantings were repossessed by his creditors when he went bankrupt in 1819.
At London Road the landscaping largely comprises of formal gardens and lawns. At the attractive riverside grounds includes mature trees and fine lawns.
In total the manages over 110 acres of parkland, 20 acres of pitches and 4 hectares of formal gardens.
