Reading Researcher Development Programme

We have created the Reading Researcher Development Programme (RRDP) to provide you with the skills you need to carry out your research professionally and effectively.

Leadership programme

Develop your leadership capabilities with our intensive, three-day leadership programme, run jointly between the Doctoral and Researcher College and Henley Business School.

Preparing to Teach programme

As a doctoral student you may have the opportunity to support the teaching and learning of other students. The Preparing to Teach programme covers the essentials of teaching, marking and giving feedback.

Academic language and writing support

The Doctoral and Researcher College, in conjunction with the University’s International Study and Language Institute (ISLI), has a range of courses designed to help international doctoral researchers maintain, improve and develop their academic English.

Development for women

Aimed at female doctoral researchers at Reading, the Sprint development programme has been researched and designed to address the study and career issues faced by women at university. The programme helps you to develop focussed goals and aspirations, increase effectiveness, clarify values and build confidence.
