As a new starter at Reading, our induction events give you the chance to find out about the University, the Doctoral and Researcher College and what to expect on the journey towards your doctorate.

Doctoral and Researcher College induction events (2024-25)

We will email you before the start of your first term to invite you to an induction event. We encourage you to attend your induction, as it includes important information on:

  • what you can expect from your time at Reading
  • what is expected of you as a postgraduate researcher
  • training requirements and development opportunities.

If you can't make the date of your induction event, you are welcome to attend the next one scheduled. 

Autumn - Wednesday 16 October 2024, 14.15-15.15. 

Spring - Wednesday 29 January 2025, 11.00-12.00

Summer - Wednesday 2 April, 11.00-12.00

(All inductions are at Whiteknights campus and can be booked via RISIS.)
