Our courses

At the Centre for Inter-Professional Postgraduate Education and Training (CIPPET) our aim is to create a flexible, appropriately trained and enthusiastic workforce that is equipped to perform current and future tasks within rapidly changing healthcare environments.

CIPPET programmes allow you to develop your skills and knowledge alongside your peers, through flexible workplace-based learning. Our programmes are designed to fit around, and complement, your working life.

Non-medical prescribing courses

Train to become an independent and supplementary prescriber on our Non-Medical Prescribing postgraduate programmes for allied health professionals, nurses, and pharmacists.

Pharmacy practice course

This programme allows registered early career pharmacists, returning to practice pharmacists or pharmacists changing sector of practice, to develop their clinical and service-based skills aligned to the RPS Foundation Pharmacy Framework. 

Advancing healthcare practice course

Practising healthcare professionals can apply to study a flexible, taught, workplace-based master's degree, which combines a range of optional and compulsory modules to suit your learning needs.

MSc Top-up Programme

This co-supervised top-up programme is for students who have completed the relevant modules to PG Diploma-level and wish to continue their studies.

Advanced Clinical Practice

Experienced practising healthcare professionals can apply to study our MSc Advanced Clinical Practice aligned to the Multi-Professional Framework for Advanced Clinical Practice in England.

Short courses

CIPPET offers educational training stand-alone modules in a range of topics relevant to healthcare practice to help you develop your practice.

How you'll learn

We use blended learning, including online support and face to face online workshops and tutorials, throughout your modules to embed the theory into practice.

On-campus study days

On-campus study days allow you to network with other healthcare professionals from a range of other settings and can be beneficial in career progression.

We encourage students to interact and learn from one another as well as form peer support networks that often last after the modules have finished.

Support and training

We provide support and training for workplace-based supervisors to ensure the quality of your learning experience. Where workplace-based learning is critical, we undertake site visits (virtual or in person) with you and your supervisor.

Range of assessment types

We use a range of assessment methods across different modules to help you demonstrate knowledge, skills and behaviours that reflect on your holistic professional practice.

We are accredited by the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC), the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and the Nursing & Midwifery Council (NMC), and have Royal Pharmaceutical Society (RPS) Foundation School status.

Trained educators

All of our teaching staff are clinical professionals by background and trained educators. We understand your professional and educational needs, and aim for all our teaching to be applied to clinical practice where we can to provide clinical context.

Personal learning plan

We will support you in building a personal learning plan to enhance your career prospects.

Many modules include a framework assessment which we encourage you to continue using as a personal learning plan after you’ve finished the module.

Academic tutor

You will be assigned a named programme tutor for each module. An academic tutor will be allocated based on your background and module choice to ensure you are able to have contextual discussions.


Develop your career

We can help you meet your professional regulator revalidation requirements and attain leadership body credentials.

Our programmes are based on developing your professional competence and confidence. They are designed to fit into your working patterns and include academic work days on campus, self-directed study time, assessment and workplace-based learning.

Days on campus will allow you to network with healthcare professionals from a range of employers and sectors, and help you to identify future career options.
