PhD opportunities

We offer flexible modes of study designed to fit with your needs. Our doctoral students undertake impactful research that's interdisciplinary and archive-based, spanning from the Middle Ages to the present.

Fees and funding

The University allocates around 150 entry awards each year in PhD studentships and bursaries, so there are many ways to access PhD funding.

You'll receive support from our Department as well as the Doctoral and Researcher College, which is the °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±¼Ç¼'s hub for all doctoral activity.

Our research

We conduct research in French, Italian, German, and Spanish within global contexts, and may also offer supervision for studies involving other languages, such as Arabic.
