Our courses

We teach a variety of undergraduate courses, those with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) as an outcome and those for people who are interested in education more broadly.

All our courses provide you with a well-rounded knowledge of education, and expose you to inspiring topics within the field.

BA Primary Education (QTS)

Do you want to teach in a primary school and work with young children aged 5-11?

Our BA Primary Education courses lead to Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and help you to develop the skills and knowledge you need to teach across the different primary age ranges.

You will also have the opportunity to specialise. We offer four subject specialist pathways:

BA Primary Education with Art (QTS)

BA Primary Education with English (QTS)

BA Primary Education with Mathematics (QTS)

BA Primary Education with Music (QTS)

BA Education Studies

Are you interested in learning about education in a broader context?

Our BA Education Studies balances theory with practice to ensure you receive a well-rounded education with a strong focus on inclusion.

You'll examine fundamental moral and social questions in education, and study education in its cultural, political and sociological contexts. You will also deepen your understanding of how children and adults learn.

Foundation Degree in Children's Development and Learning

Do you want to study alongside work?

If you already work within a related early years (birth-5 years) or educational (4-11 years) setting for at least 2.5 days a week and wish to develop professionally, this is the perfect course for you.

BA Children's Development and Learning

Do you want to develop your skills in the children's workforce with a vocational degree that relates directly to your work?

You will need to have completed the Foundation Degree in Children's Development and Learning in order to do this course. We offer the Foundation degree at the University.

Step off campus and you'll find yourself in a bustling town centre offering a variety of shops, restaurants and activities. We're also well-connected – you can reach London Paddington within half an hour by train.

The Learning Hub is home to a wide range of resources that aid teaching and lesson planning. This includes story sacks, picture books, posters and puppets.
