Temporal Organization of Demand-Side Technologies for Flexibility Services: The Case of Electric School Buses.
I am conducting research on school bus commuting practice, with a specific focus on electric buses. The research aims to understand why social practices, like school bus commuting, take on specific forms following the adoption of new technologies. The study investigates how demand flexibility technologies, such as electric school buses and vehicle-to-grid technology, interact with existing routines and practices in school bus transportation. Ultimately, I seek to explore how the adoption of these technologies transforms the way school bus commuting is conducted, organized, and experienced.
Background
I hold an M.Sc. in Metals and Energy Finance from Imperial College London and a B.Eng. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Ado-Ekiti. My MSc dissertation delved into the financial and economic appraisal of alternatives to gas flaring within production sharing contracts and joint venture agreements. Prior to embarking on my PhD journey, I gained several years of experience in the electricity industry, management consulting, and international development, with a primary focus on advancing the decarbonization of the end-use energy sectors.
