Specialism

Animal Welfare
Researcher on the Pathways to Sustainable Food project

Areas of interest

My interests lie in agroecological systems as an intersection between farming for higher animal welfare and nature conservation/restoration. Particular interests include assessing and promoting positive welfare of farmed animals, pasture-fed production, and insects as a sustainable protein source.

Pathways to Sustainable Food

Background

I am an animal welfare scientist passionate about the natural world and making the planet a better place for all animals, human and non-human alike. I gained my PhD in Clinical Veterinary Sciences at the University of Bristol after an undergraduate degree in Natural Sciences (specialising in Zoology) at Cambridge University. After leaving academia to work in the NGO sector I returned to the University of Bristol as a Research Associate in farm animal welfare before joining the 澳门六合彩开奖记录, as well as project managing a major research grant at a black soldier fly farming company. I also work as a freelance consultant on a range of animal welfare and sustainability projects, and farm a small flock of laying hens.
