At SCFP we encourage the undertaking of work experience placements by students over the age of 16 alongside research scientists. These placements will help the student to learn new skills and techniques whilst at the same time fostering a greater appreciation of science and the role it plays in everyday life.
Any placements that are undertaken should be of benefit to the student and of sufficient variance as to provide a stimulating experience which they would not gain during full time education.
All work experience placements must be approved by your Department Outreach Officer, Head of Department and require completion of risk assessments (with SCFP Safety) prior to commencement.
