Recruitment is closed for this study

The key aims of this study are to explore the effects of glycaemic index on cognitive function, blood glucose and mood in individuals. Understanding how multiple meals affect our cognition throughout the day could have many real world applications, such as tailoring what we eat in the work place to make ourselves more productive.

The study consists of a single one hour screening visit followed by two full day study visits to the Hugh Sinclair Unit of Human Nutrition. The study visit days must be within 7 to 30 days of each other and last for 8 hours.

To be eligible for this study you must be aged between 40 and 70 years of age, male or female with non-insulin dependent type 2 diabetes mellitus.
