Research activities
The Hugh Sinclair Unit of Human Nutrition (HSUHN), is a vibrant, internationally recognised group that explores the impacts of diets, food or individual dietary components on health promotion and chronic disease prevention.
We use controlled dietary intervention, advanced biochemical, molecular biology and genotyping techniques to determine the action of nutrients from a cellular to whole body level.
Research sponsors include research councils, including Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council (BBSRC), Medical Research Council (MRC), European Union; charities including Wellcome Trust, British Heart Foundation, Diabetes UK, and a wide range of industrial partners.
