Our courses

We offer two master's courses: you can either choose to study an MA in Applied Linguistics or an MA Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL).

With both courses you will have the opportunity to develop specialist knowledge and skills, putting you on a path to a successful career.

Your future career

Our master's courses are ideal if you are already working as a language teacher or thinking of a career in language teaching, and wish to develop professionally and academically. 

They are also useful if you are interested in the way language is used in society, business or other professional fields, and want to develop your career in language-related industries or  are interested in pursuing PhD studies in the future. 

Many of our graduates go on to careers in the media, publishing, translating, language technology, international marketing and public relations.

Fees, funding and scholarships

There is a variety of funding support available to our master’s students.

UK students can receive government loans to help towards tuition fees and living costs. You may also be eligible for other grants and bursaries.

Both UK and International students can apply for a range of scholarships. Our scholarships are awarded based on previous academic achievement.
