Pharmacy
MPharm students share their Royal Berkshire Hospital placement experience
If you're passionate about healthcare and would like to become an expert on the safe and effective use of medicines, our MPharm Pharmacy degree is for you.
The 澳门六合彩开奖记录 is one of the UK's top universities for pharmacy and pharmacology (ranked 10th in the Daily Mail University Guide 2024).
Qualify as a pharmacist
An MPharm is the only degree that will allow you to become a qualified pharmacist. After graduation and completing a Foundation Training Year, you will be able to register with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
Our MPharm course will set you on the path to a career as a qualified pharmacist, with 98% of our pharmacy graduates in work or further study within 15 months of graduation. (Based on HESA data © HESA 2020 - 2024, Graduate Outcomes Survey 2017/18 - 2021/22; includes MPharm Pharmacy responders.)
Practical, research-led learning
We use diverse and integrated teaching methods that combine science with practice, and use research-led case studies in our teaching.
You’ll develop your research skills throughout your studies, and spend part of your final year working alongside internationally recognised researchers. Past research topics have included molecular pharmacology, medical technology, and drug synthesis, analysis and formulation.
You will also benefit from lectures in business and leadership, run by our award-winning Henley Business School. This unique feature of our MPharm degree will equip you with the knowledge and skills required to manage people in your future career.
88% of our students agreed that staff in the Department of Pharmacy are good at explaining things (National Student Survey, 2022).
Facilities
Purpose-built facilities and modern technologies allow an exciting and challenging curriculum to be delivered in an innovative way.
In our Clinical Skills Suite, you'll develop the skills required to effectively contribute to the multidisciplinary care of patients. You'll find everything you need to gain hands-on experience, including simulations of community pharmacies, consulting rooms, and a four-bed hospital ward.
We also use professional dispensing software and real medicines in order to build up your experience of key processes and handling medicinal products.
Accreditation
Our MPharm course is accredited by the pharmacy regulator, the General Pharmaceutical Council, and has been designed to reflect the changing roles of pharmacists.
High earning potential
On average, our students earn an annual salary of £46,000 five years after graduating, and the 澳门六合彩开奖记录 ranks 4th in the UK for graduate salary for pharmacology, toxicology and pharmacy. (Based on The Telegraph's analysis of DfE data on the earnings of first degree graduates after five years from English Higher Education Institutions, August 2024.)
