E-resources problem report form

Before filling in this form

Check the latest e-resource news on the right of this page to see if there is a known problem we are already working on.

Try the following steps to solve your problem...

  • Check that you are using the correct username
For most students and staff the username will consist of two letters and six numbers followed by the suffix of your email address, for example: ab123456@student.reading.ac.uk. It will be the same username you use to access your University email account. Please note that in order to access your Library account to pay fines, place holds etc, you will need to use just the two letter and six number username, without anything before or after it.
  • Check that you are using the correct password
Use the same password you use to login to campus PCs and Blackboard.
  • Try using a different web browser
Sometimes specific browsers are not compatible with some websites. If you only have one browser, you can download others (such as Chrome and Firefox) for free. Alternatively try clearing your Browser Cache and Cookies.
  • Check that the article or volume you are trying to access is part of our subscriptions
Search the for the journal title. If it is not included in the dates shown you will not be able to access it online.

We will endeavour to answer or assign your query within one working day of receipt.

Please be aware that our e-resources are provided by many different companies and some problems might be beyond our control, but we will work with our suppliers to resolve any issues as soon as possible.

Information provided via this form will be handled in accordance with our Privacy notice (PDF) and our Data retention and archive policies.
