Research projects

My lab is focused on understanding the mechanisms of how cancer spreads, a process called metastasis. We are particularly interested in metastatic colonisation - the adaptation of cancer cells to a new site after they've spread from their primary site. This involves studying interactions between cancer cells, the extracellular matrix and the other cells in the tumour microenvironment. We are currently studying how a range of different cancer types adapt to the brain and the liver.
