Postdoctoral Research Associate in Dairy Cow Behaviour
I am a Postdoctoral Research Associate specialising in dairy cow behaviour, currently engaged in a BBSRC funded research project investigating heat stress in dairy cows within building microclimates.
Areas of interest
I am broadly interested in dairy cattle housing and management, especially the effects of various housing and management on their development, behaviour, health and welfare.
My PhD focused on the effects of environmental enrichment on dairy calves’ growth, behaviour, affective state and cognition, which remains a key interest.
Currently, my focus is primarily on precision dairy farming, looking at cutting-edge technologies to assess and predict dairy cattle productivity, behaviour, emotion and welfare states. The ultimate objective of my work is to optimise resource utilisation, reduce costs, and enhance the quality of life for dairy cattle, contributing to driving the dairy industry forward.
