This module is the first in a series of three to support students personal development.ÌýÌý



The module encourages students to develop self-awareness, and reflect on their core values and drivers. Students will reflect upon their own learning, performance and achievement, and plan for their personal, educational and career development.Ìý


Aims:

In this module, students will develop a better understanding of themselves and their interactions with others.ÌýÌý



The module aims to:Ìý




  • Develop self-awareness in relations to self and othersÌý

  • Encourage students to better understand their own personal values and beliefsÌý

  • Support students to reflect on their own performance and plan for ongoing personal developmentÌý

  • Give an understanding of learning styles and apply to self and othersÌý


Assessable learning outcomes:

By the end of the module, it is expected that programme members may be able to demonstrate their ability in the following areas:Ìý

  • Demonstrate self-awareness as an independent, reflective and self-critical learner in a wide range of learning contexts and be able to apply learning to new situationsÌý

  • Personal Development Planning and goal setting for selfÌý

  • Learning stylesÌý


Brief description of teaching and learning methods:

Teaching and learning takes place through a blended learning approach. The teaching and learning methods comprise a combination of self-study via a range of online materials on the Canvas learning platform, weekly one-hour virtual seminars with a Learning Coach, and face-to-face workshops with Faculty.Ìý



Materials on Canvas include content on-screen, videos, PowerPoint presentations, journal articles, book chapters, practical activities and reflection points.Ìý&nbs p;

Facilitated learning activities are undertaken during the seminars and workshops, including formative feedback on these activities.Ìý
