Aims:
The aim of this module is to provide students with a more extensive knowledge and understanding of microeeconometrics, especially applying the techniques for research. Secondly the module will teach students how to apply these econometric techniques, using the statistical package Stata.
Assessable learning outcomes:
By the end of the module students should have the knowledge and understanding to be able to select and use appropriate econometric techniques for research, as well as understanding which post-estimation tests to apply and any caveats to the techniques. Students should be in a position to be able to perform their own data analysis using the statistical package Stata.
Additional outcomes:
Students will develop their, Stata, research and data handling skills, and be able to critically evaluate methods and approaches chosen by research papers.
